Beware of misleading invoices and misleading e-mails!

We receive queries about misleading invoices that appear to be from BOIP. There are also parties that use misleading emails to pressure companies to buy unnecessary services from them at high cost. Don't fall for it!

Often the scammers say that someone else has registered a company name as a trademark, but this is false and misleading. Or they pretend to be BOIP, EUIPO, WIPO or another official body.

In their misleading e-mail or misleading letter, the scammers pretend that the company needs to register a trademark as soon as possible, at high cost. Don't do it! This is a tactic to persuade entrepreneurs to incur unnecessarily high costs.
