We have rebuilt the system in a new technology which has more flexibility, which means we can meet your needs even faster. Here we set out what the most important changes are for you.

Filing an opposition online: what’s new

  • When the contested trademark is imported a check is made to see if the trademark can be opposed.
The days the office is closed will now be taken into account for this check.
  • Searching for and importing trademarks (contested trademark or right invoked) from TMview has been improved. Besides searching by number, you can now also search for a letter and number combination of a trademark.
  • It is now also possible to file an opposition online using your tablet or smartphone.

N.B.: It is not possible to upload an application saved (XML) in the former system into the new system.

Cooperation with EUIPO

This new system is the result of cooperation with EUIPO. Through the continuous cooperation between BOIP and EUIPO within the European Union Intellectual Property Network, we are working to improve how we meet the needs of our customers and to simplify and streamline their experience throughout the whole of the EU.
