Benelux Council

The Benelux Council for Intellectual Property  makes recommendations and issues advice on all matters relating to intellectual property within the competence of the Benelux Organisation for Intellectual Property.

The members of the Benelux Council are appointed by the Director General (DG) in consultation with the Management Board. The members of the Benelux Council are drawn from the largest possible number of stakeholder circles in the Benelux: the judiciary, the academic world, lawyers, agents and, of course, the business community in its capacity as the end user.

Representatives from the Office also take part in the Council: the DG, the Deputy DGs and one or more members of staff designated by the DG. Finally, representatives of the three Benelux countries are allowed to be present at the meeting and, where appropriate, experts may be invited to attend.

The recommendations, working documents and reports are currently only available in Dutch and French.
