Appointment new Director General of the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property

Ragnar Gustafsson was appointed as the new Director General of the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property (BOIP) by its Administrative Council on 6 December 2018. He will take office on 1 July 2019, succeeding the current Director General, Edmond Simon, who will retire on that date.

Mr Gustafsson has served at BOIP as Deputy Director General Affairs since 1 May 2014. He has been appointed for a five-year term, in accordance with a new rotation-based management model. Mr Gustafsson will exercise a number of powers delegated to him as of 1 February 2019, before officially taking the helm on 1 July 2019.
