We receive queries about misleading invoices that appear to be from BOIP. There are also parties that use misleading e-mails to pressure companies to buy unnecessary services from them at high cost. Don't fall for it!
Often the scammers say that someone else has registered your company name as a trademark, but this is false and misleading. Or they pretend to be BOIP, EUIPO, WIPO or another official body.
In their misleading e-mail or misleading letter, the scammers pretend that you need to register a trademark as soon as possible, at high cost. Don't do it! This is a tactic to persuade entrepreneurs to incur unnecessarily high costs.
