Are you looking for a job where your ideas are valued and your talent takes centre stage? Would you like to work in a certified ‘Great Place to Work’ organisation? Then you’ve come to the right place! Let’s get to know each other! Below is a little about us to start with. See our vacancies
About BOIP
It’s a pleasure to meet you! We are BOIP. Yes, it’s a rather special name. It stands for ‘Benelux Office for Intellectual Property’. Entrepreneurs register their trademark, design or idea with us.
What makes our organisation particularly special? We are an international organisation. It means excellent working conditions that are just that little bit different from what you might be used to in the Netherlands. You can read more about what makes us so unique in the section ‘BOIP is special’.
For us, being yourself is important when you work here, no matter what your gender, religion or culture is. On top of that, we are committed to helping you develop your skills.
Your vitality and well-being are also important to us. That's why we have a proper plan for cycling in place and healthy lunches at the office. By that we mean freshly prepared and delicious salads, soup and sandwiches (and sometimes even traditional chicken roti – yes, really!).
We also work on sustainability at BOIP. In 2024 we are making our offices more sustainable, investing in charging points for electric vehicles and, for us, to limit travel between home and work, working remotely part of the time is completely normal.
Our organisation is growing. Over the past few years, a large number of colleagues have joined the organisation, putting fresh wind in the sails. It’s really nice because we also have many colleagues who have already been working at BOIP for quite a long time (some for more than 20 years). It means juniors learn from seniors, and vice versa.
Great Place to Work
You read it above already: we are a ‘Great Place to Work’. As many as 82% of our colleagues say that’s what they think. Our ‘Great Place to Work’ certificate means we guarantee a number of things, such as being able to be yourself, an open office culture, personal development and fantastic working conditions.
That is not to say that we sit back and do little though; quite the opposite actually! We keep working on the things we can do even better. We do that together: any contribution to making BOIP even better is welcome. We challenge all of our colleagues to make the best use of their skills.
What we offer
We strive for an inspiring working environment in which we challenge staff to make the best use of their skills. Initiatives leading to improvement are encouraged and rewarded. In addition, we offer excellent primary and secondary terms of employment, such as an attractive salary structure, a 36-hour working week, parental leave, study packages and room for personal development.
Culture
How do we describe our office culture? Positive and open. By positive we mean that we are happy in our work and enjoy laughing, lunching and celebrating results together.
We don’t just say we have an open office culture – it is quite literally the case. The doors of the office spaces are open most of the time, so you can always wander in to see someone. We have an active intranet which departments use to share what they are busy with or where you can find updates on important projects. Open for us also means that we are honest about the job ladders and salaries, and giving feedback is of course the most normal thing in the world to help you further in your career.
BOIP is special
We said it above, BOIP is a special employer. To give you a sneak preview: we have our own tax regime. If you are given a permanent contract with us, you fall under our own regime and our own medical insurance policy. You also have several free days with short time working arrangements (ADV days), which means that in theory you can take as many as 48 days off per year (that is approximately 11 weeks, so it really is a lot 😊).
So, there you have it; now you have some of an idea of who we are, and we are of course very curious to know about you! Shall we have a coffee together soon?
