On 7 April 2025 the updated system for filing modifications online went live. This article tells you about what the changes mean for you.
We have rebuilt the system in a new technology which has more flexibility. The method for submitting modifications remains unchanged.
What type of modifications?
- modification of name and/or address of the trademark and/or design holder
- modification of name and/or address of representative
- transfer of trademarks
- transfer of designs
- change of or appointment of authorized representative.
Filing modifications online: what's new
- You have the option to save and resume at a later time.
- You can now file modifications using your tablet or smartphone.
- In the case of modifications in a name and/or address, all valid products associated with the selected holder will now be displayed. You can make a choice based on this list.
Cooperation with EUIPO
This new system is the result of cooperation with EUIPO. Through the continuous cooperation between BOIP and EUIPO within the European Union Intellectual Property Network, we are working to improve how we meet the needs of our customers and to simplify and streamline their experience throughout the whole of the EU.
